Medline Bath Bench without Back, Gray

Reviews of Medline Bath Bench without Back, Gray

1.) Wonderful asset for post ankle surgery!
Reviewed by: RMT Virginia USA
Rating:
I'm a 46 year old, overweight, active woman who just suffered through my second ankle surgery in two years. Both surgeries have left me non-weight bearing for 6 weeks and at least 12 weeks on crutches. I'm an avid exerciser, but by no means am I in shape. I purchased this for my second surgery. I'd already experienced trying to precariously balance on one foot in the shower after my first surgery and I didn't want to do that again.

Ther bench is comfortable with a curved grey seat. It has holes for drainage. The legs feel sturdy and are adjustable. I don't feel like I'm going to tip over in the shower even though I've moved it to the tallest position to aid me in standing. The seat has two handles formed on the narrow edges and sturdy rubber feet to keep it from slipping. It is lightweight and easy to move.

You need to put it together. I seemed to need another washer to attach the seat to the legs, but other than that it was really quick. You will need a phillips head screwdriver.

The shipping was free. The price was low. The quality is excellent. The seat is comfortable. It's very stable. It's durable. What more could I ask for?

After my first surgery, I got around on crutches and used a bag taped on my leg with waterproof tape to keep the cast dry. This time I've planned much better. I'm using:

XeroSox Pro-Pump to keep the cast dry - It's wonderful, heavy duty. No tape or mess. You can easily pump the air out and submerge. The pressure of pumping the air out on my ankle is painful so I can't pump the air out. The opening is tight enough that I can pull it high on my thigh and still remain perfectly dry in the shower. It has a skid proof durable sole.

Crutch Mate Arm Pads - Pretty easy to put on. I could feel the front and back edges under my arms so I put it over the exsisting pads. Very nice.

Walker - My husband got this for me because he knew how hard it was for me to hop on one foot on crutches while on morphin. I was reluctant, but it's wonderful. The stability is worth it, especially getting in and out of the shower.

Roll-a-bout - I haven't used this much because I'm still housebound, but I've met a few people who love it. Its so much easier than crutches.

Office chair on wheels - This is my life saver. We leave one in the kitchen and I scoot wherever I need to go. It offers easy mobility and comfort. A wheelchair wouldn't easily fit in my small home so this has been great.

I Want That Body - exercise, weight lifting dvd. There was no way I was going on crutches again without strengthening my arms. This is a wonderful, easily achieved tape for all ages. My 19 and 22 year-olds use it and so do I. It's easily modified for any fitness level. Read the reviews.

I hope this is helpful! Good luck!

I bought one of these at a local store. When my sister visited and used it, she liked it better than any she had used. She lives in Texas so I looked for an online source and found it at Amazon. The price was so good that even with shipping she didn't pay anymore than I had. It arrived there in 2 days and she is delighted. It's lightweight and rustproof; easy to assemble.

4.) Great Bath Bench

This Medline bath bench is very well made for an inexpensive item, with quality components and construction throughout. Pros: sturdy aluminum frame, stainless steel fasteners, ball bearing detents on legs (to raise the leg height), comfortable hand grips on seat, easy-to-see grey seat, easy to assemble - the seat and legs are marked for proper assembly orientation. Cons: None...it exceeded my expectations!

There were a lot of shower/bathtub seats, ranging from very expensive to reasonable. The reviews varied a lot, but many of the products seemed difficult to assemble.

This seat was exactly what I wanted. Fair price and I put it together in minutes without any tools being needed. It fits perfectly in my shower, looks good, and is extremely helpful when showering.

It also was delivered promptly, so altogether, it is an excellent seat.

After having knee surgery, this was the perfect product for my shower. It adjusts to any height that you may need and the seat warms up quickly when you put warm water on it so sitting on it is a pleasure. The holes in the bottom were the best part so I could wash my private area and the soap would go away. That doesn't sound important, but it is to me. It also helped for drying my feet and legs without having to stand up. Good Product - Not too expensive.

10.) Very easy to deal with.

I had hip surgery, and I am only 31 years old. This bath bench was very helpful. We have a stand alone shower, and I can maneuver this bench anyway that I need it while taking a shower. It is very light weight, and I am very comfortable with it. It doesn't slide at all. Very good purchase. I would recommend this to anyone.

14.) Quality Bath Bench

I purchased this for my wife who is only five ft. tall thus we needed a bench adjustable for her size. The height adjustment is user friendly and I am very pleased with it.

The assembly was very easy and there were no tools required. The legs are held on by five hand screws that have nice large wings which make it easy to fasten them down. You fasten these to metal nuts that are molded into the bench. The only thing you could get wrong is to try to assemble the B leg before the A leg. However, that should not be a problem as everything is well marked.

The warranty for this product is three years and there is a 1-800 number for the warranty.

This is a very well thought out bath bench that we use in a shower. It is not designed for a small shower or small bath tub. If you are wondering if this will suit your location, use the following information. The important dimensions are as follows. The width of the feet: 17-1/2 inches on the outside. The depth is actually larger from the front to the back and this is 18-1/2 inches.

I don't know how I survived the last few years without this item. I dreaded showers because I can't stand without severe pain, and baths require too much rinsing, water and time. This product is perfect for me and my tub. It's sturdy, comfortable, easy to stay clean, and reasonably priced. Delivery was prompt. I am so thankful.

After my accident, I was using such an elaborate shower stool that I had to remove the shower doors to get it inside. Now that I'm able to step into the shower, this stool is the perfect size, perfect stability, and so easy to assemble! Fits in both bathrooms (mine and guest) with great ease. Lightweight. The holes in the sides provide perfect handles for added stability. I'm pleased with the product.

25.) Not a good fit
Reviewed by: J. Bagby South Mississippi
Rating:
This bench is very sturdy and well-made, but unfortunately had to be returned because it didn't really fit my shower area very well. The elongated shape of the seat and the added inches of overall size due to the flared-out legs made it awkward to fit into the corner shower stall which is a square shape with one corner cut off. It would probably be just fine to use in a tub or a much larger shower enclosure.

26.) DANGER
Reviewed by: J. D. Young USA

This shower seat is a hazard for anyone who is disabled. I needed a seat for my disabled teen. He has CP and has limited mobility. THIS is what I was given by his medicare provider.
He sat down on it and tried to center himself putting weight on the hand hold on the side. The seat flipped over on top of him hitting him in the shoulder and dumping him onto the floor of the shower. This should NOT be this unstable. NOT when it is given to people with disabilities. THIS SEAT IS DANGEROUS.

This says it supports 250 pounds. I'm 225, and the legs were quickly bent out of shape, making the bench unsable. If you're about 170 pounds or less, it would probably be ok.
