1.) Note that the height is adjustable. Very strong and well made.

It's not mentioned in the description but the bottom part of the legs adjust by screwing in and out of the top part of the legs. This provides about a 5 inch range of height adjustment. With the legs fully extended, the height of the seat is about 21 inches. The bench is very strong and well made from molded plastic. There is no hardware - the legs slide into the base and lock in position. You would need to use a pen or something to depress the locking button when you want to remove the legs. This bench is also available with a backrest from amazon, but it costs $58 versus the bargin price or $25 for this one without the back. Here is the amazon page for the same bench including back: [...]

This bath bench is supposed to be a universal size but is too large for a residential shower. Size was not included in the description. The bench is an excellent product (very strong, height is adjustable)but is 21 inches long and 18 inches wide and takes up half the shower. I wish I could have used it.

3.) Great purchase
Reviewed by: Housewife Florida

We bought this bath bench to replace the standard shower chair with a back and aluminum legs. This bath bench is SO MUCH BETTER - it is sturdier (and I'm a woman of ample size), easier to keep clean and because of the way the legs are constructed, no water can get inside them, so no kind of rusty/crusty-looking spots to worry about. Plus, the feet of this bath bench are much thicker and sturdier rubber than the conventional shower chair. That was why we had to toss our old one -one of the rubber feet wore through and we were afraid the bathtub would get scratched. Replacement feet were pretty expensive and in any case, as pleased as I am with this bath bench, it's probably a good thing I didn't spend $ on replacement parts for the old one. This bath bench is also a wonderful value and Amazon gave me free shipping (LOVE YOU AMAZON!!!) I'm very happy!

When I ordered this bench I wasn't sure it would fit in my narrow built-in tub/shower. But it fits easily. It's sturdy and gives good support. One word of caution: If you shower standing up then sit to wash your hair, be sure to rinse the soapy water off before you sit down. A real plus is the adjustable leg height. Amazon makes ordering easy and saves me time and money by not having to run around looking for what I need.

I ordered this bench as a replacement for one "inherited" from an aging relative several years ago. It had aluminum legs and rubber stoppers, but finally needed to be replaced. I had gotten used to having a bath bench for shaving legs and foot care while in the shower, and found this reasonably priced bench with other good reviews. It turned out to be true that it is very sturdy, easy to assemble, and can be easily disassembled if you wish to take it somewhere with your or are moving. The bench is comfortable and well constructed, and one can feel safe that it won't move out of place when sitting or arising. I am very pleased with this purchase and vendor.

I highly recommend this bath bench...I use it in my stall shower. It is well made and designed. The only caution is that you make sure that its size will fit where you want...it may be too large for some older/smaller tubs. Otherwise, there are only positives:
-Heavy duty and sturdy
-No metal parts to rust
-Less than 2 minutes to assemble, no tools needed
-Easy and secure height adjustment
-Can be adjusted for uneven surfaces
-Made in the USA

Reviewed by: P. Lewers

It's a good product because it handles a lot of weight, doesn't rust or hold water in pockets and it holds a shower head on either the right or left. If you need a backrest order one with it. I used one with aluminum legs after an accident but found it mighty handy for a foot rest, bottle holder etc after I healed, trouble was it had some metal parts that rusted in the legs and also attracted mold in some places that didn't drain. This one doesn't have those problems and that's why I bought it.

13.) Whew - it fit!

I was nervous about the size of this based on the other review. My tub is a normal to small size. It fit! If it had been one inch wider, it wouldn't work, but it is perfect. I do not have an overly large tub. I had a fiberglass tub put over the original tub, so it is narrower than it was originally. Unless your tub is too narrow for most adults to sit in, this one should work fine.

With so many styles to choose from it was hard to decide which one to get, but I finally settled on this one. I haven't been disappointed in my purchase....my mother loves the bench. It's easy to assemble, very sturdy, and fits in the tub without a problem. I purchased the bench without a back, but if she decides she needs the back it can be purchased separately. We ordered this for my Mother, who weighs about 200 lbs and was unable to bathe herself for a short period of time. It arrived very quickly, was easy to put together and small enought to fit in older tubs. It is very sturdy. The only thing I would suggest is if the person you are buying it for has difficulty raising their legs to step into the tub, you might want to consider a transfer type of bench. However, this one worked perfectly for us.

19.) Nice and wide, yet fits tub!
Reviewed by: Plano Gal Plano, Texas

It is nice and wide but fits the tub well. It is a little more rickety with the legs fully extended for taller people, but even then, it is fairly sturdy. The little rubber feet help a lot. It was EXTREMELY easy to put together (just snap the legs in). I was surprised it fit in my injured son's small apartment tub, which is fairly rounded where the bottom meets the sides. It is rather wide front to back, and takes up a lot of tub space, but otherwise ideal.

My son, who has two metal plates and 12 screws in his leg, and is recovering from an accident, gave it a huge thumbs up and said it is nice to finally be able to really get clean, and it feels sturdy to him. He was very grateful for this item and impressed with it.

I ordered this product for my elderly mother to be able to sit in her shower with a handheld showerhead and bathe in comfort & safety. It works VERY WELL! The chair is very sturdy (has large rubber tipped legs) & the seat is nice & large. The chair sits in a circa '59 bathtub and it was only 19" wide. I had to call cust. service @ Carex to get the leg width because the max. dimentions that were listed are deceiving.

A few years ago I bought one of these--the identical product--when I was post-op and wearing a huge cast on one leg for 6 months. It's how I managed to shower every day, and it literally became something I was very grateful for. Now I've bought another, in another city, because I'm getting a bit ungainly, and again it's a happy shower pal. The plastic is as sturdy as steel. It's designed beautifully. The handles are just right. It's so easy to put together and take apart. Really, this is a rave by someone who knows.

This is great bath seat. Using it is the only way that I can take a bath since I broke my wrist. I had previously bought this item from a drugstore. I like it so much that I ordered one from Amazon.com to give as a gift. I received it yesterday, and I am so upset that the bench did not come in the original Carex box. The seat and the four legs (you have to put them together anyway, but it's easy) were just thrown into a beat-up, ripped cardboard box with a UPS label stuck on and sent to me that way. I can't give something in that terrible box as a gift. This experience has made me realize that I will have to think twice before purchasing anything else from Amazon.com, that would be a gift.

It's very stable, no concerns about tipping. I'm a heavy woman (over 200 lbs) and it feels fine. I have a 3/4 tub and it fits fine. There is no back to it, it's very simple. But I'm still using it as it's great when I need to shave my legs or work on my feet in the shower. And there is room for both the stool and me in the shower, I just leave it inside. It stays very clean, it's not susceptible to mold and mildew.

I am not sure what the target customer base is for this product. I purchased it for our guest bathroom, which has an oversized shower stall, for my brother's visit. My brother lost both his legs, and I wanted something where he did not have to sit on the floor of the shower. Unfortunately, this chair sits a little too high and lacks the stability necessary for him to climb into it, and we do not have shower hand rails to assist him. So, I tried using it in one of the our bathrooms that have a tub, but it is too big for a standard sized tub. In the end I had to return the product.
