I like this stool. I had a larger corner stool with a teak seat that was better looking at first, but it started looking horrible quickly. This one has stayed looking white and clean, and it takes up very little space in the shower. I'm a pretty large person, and this stool works fine for me. I recommend it.

This stool is very lightweight and it's circular design is space-saving. It fits in the tub easily and can be moved in and out of the tub easily. We use it out of the tub when we bathe the baby. My MIL will use it in the tub when her knee bothers her too much to stand for a shower.
12.) Some Drawbacks, but Excellent Overall

While I agree with other reviewers who have said that the stool is a little wobbly and needs drainage holes in the seat, overall I give the product 5 stars because it is such a relief to finally find a durable stool that makes it possible to shower without fear of injury. My tub is one of those ancient, narrow and deeply curved models, and this stool is the only one I've found that fits the dimensions of the tub; it does wobble slightly because of the curved sides of the tub, but not so much as to make me feel insecure. I like the fact that the legs have so many height adjustments, and am especially grateful for the stool's light weight and small convenient size. Others have commented on the issue of rust, and I haven't had the stool long enough to determine if this is still a problem. As for the lack of drainage holes, if you have access to an electric drill it would be easy to add a few (though of course this should not be necessary, it would be better for the manufacturer to ship it that way). Overall, I think this is an excellent product and it has made my life a whole lot easier - I don't dread showers the way I did when I had to rely on handrails for support. And it's small enough to store easily when not in use.

This stool was a big help to me in recovering from hip surgery. My son assembled it when it came. Assembly only took about 15 minutes or so, & he didn't hurry. It is very solid, & the legs don't slip in the tub. I like the adjustable height. Even when the stool was wet, I didn't feel like I would slip off of it because of the texture. Yet, it is still very easy to clean & disinfect. Unlike some of the other reviewers, we didn't have trouble with rust, so I don't know why there was a difference, there. The stool is light enough to move around the bathroom even while recovering, so instead of only using it in the shower I also used it when brushing my teeth, etc. The price was a great relief, as I definitely did not want to get something used. It is such a good, solid stool that we will continue to use it elsewhere even though it's no longer needed in the shower.

The product arrived as scheduled, and assembly was a breeze, took me just a few mins with a screw driver. i use this couple of times a week, when standing long in the showers gets difficult with growing pregnancy. I use it at the highest length so its easy for me to sit on. This product is lightweight also, hence moving it in and out of shower is also quite easy. i am glad i bought this product.

I put the chair together and have been using it for a month now after foot surgery. I notice that rust has started around the middle screw holding all the legs together. I thought this was strange since it is a shower chair and will on occasion get wet. It also said it was adjustable. You must have to be REALLY strong to get those pegs to move because they have not budged. The height is good for what I need now, but I thought I could continue using it as a stool later on. Guess that is not to be. Don't get me wrong, I do like it. I mean it is the only round one I have found and is easy to move around on it. Just wish it was more user friendly on the buttons and did not have part of the assembly rusting. I don't think it is the big screw it self that I rusting, but the ring that goes around it maybe.

Carex Round Shower Stool
I ordered this stool in September 2007 to take on vacation. The stool is a perfect size to fit in small tubs and showers. It is easy to assemble. I have no trouble adjusting height of stool.
Once the seat came off when I picked up stool by the seat. I tightened the screw by using a wrench and pliers. No problems since then.
I paid $28.50 + $6.88 shipping. I could have free shipping but did not have time to wait the extra days. Current price is only $21.99.
Amazon's $6.88 shipping price was reasonable. I paid $13 to ship home the stool because I did not want to carry it on the airplane.
I highly recommend this stool, especially at the current low price. I meant to give it a five-star rating but accidentally clicked on four stars.

Since this stool is small and light weight, it's easy to fit into any shower room and easy to carry, but the downside is that the user has to have a good balance in order to use it safely.

I rated this product a 4 because it probably could be made with better material, but for the price, it's a good product, no complaints.

My daughter can manuever around in the tub and shower. But you really can't manuever around in a rectangle shape shower chair. It is easy to clean and wipe dry. This is a well-built product. I used this when I was recovering from ankle surgery and could not put any weight on my foot. The adjustable seat height is nice, and it stays where you put it. The only thing that would've been nice is if there were small holes in the seat for drainage, under the shower head water did pool on the seat when I wasn't sitting. Also, the price could be lower. This is essentially just like any other little stool except it has rubber feet, but since it's a "medical device" it costs twice as much. But it also has the adjustable seat height which is hard to find in a regular stool. Overall I am satisfied with it.

The Carex Round Shower Stool is a good fit for a normal size bathtub or shower stall.
I like this product however Carex could make this into a great product instead of a just OK product by making two changes.
1. The Carex Round Shower Stool is a little bit flimsy. By adding crossbars to the legs of the stool would give this product a much more secure feeling as well as being able to support more weight.
2. The seat is molded plastic which is fine but there are no holes in the seat for water to drain from. So when you sit on it when wet and then stand up, the standing water on the stool acts as a seal between the plastic seat and your butt and the stool (because it is so light weight) tends to stick momentarily until the weight of the seat breaks the seal and falls back down. The recommendation here is for Carex to add some water drainage holes.
With those changes this would be a great product. The product as currently designed is adequate.
42.) Nice size, adjustable, can be used anywhere.

This little stool is light-weight and just the right size to use in a small shower stall. It was easy to assemble and adjust. I am mainly using it as a stool for my dressing area. Set at it highest level, it acts as a perfect seat for putting on make-up, curling hair, etc. When I need to use it as a shower stool, it is easily moved and lowered to the lowest point. It does seem a little wobbley when used in the shower, but as a dressing stool on the carpet, it works fine. I think it probably can rust if left wet for any length of time, but for a low-price seat, it can serve a two-fold purpose of shower and dressing stool.

I had read reivews so I coated the bolts and washers with clear acrylic to prevent their rusting. I also enlarged the very small openings in the rubber caps for the legs, to allow water to pass through more easily. However, after a few weeks rust started showing up where the legs were draining. The legs are made of aluminum and wouldn't rust, so I guess it must the springs inside them allowing the legs to be adjusted causing the rust. I'm not sure, but rust was there. I finally threw it away yesterday.
